My "Territory"

While most Realtors are only capable of covering a relatively small area, my background and experience allows me to effectively handle much of the metropolitan Detroit area.  While I currently reside on the eastside (Grosse Pointe Park), I spent over thirty years in the Birmingham/ Bloomfield Hills area.  As a "preferred" relocation specialist for two large area corporations, I also regularly work in the Northville/Novi and the Rochester/Troy markets.  My extensive knowledge of all of these areas makes me uniquely qualified to help you select the area that most suits your family and your lifestyle.

The Pointes
While the area is know collectively as “Grosse Pointe” or “The Pointes” there are actually five Grosse Pointes. The cities of Grosse Pointe, Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Woods and Grosse Pointe Shores are all separate, distinct governmental entities with their own city management, their own mayors, city councils, parks departments, public safety officers, etc. While all of the Pointes are wonderful places to live, this separation creates distinctions that add flavor to the community and the smaller cities allow for the incredible level of municipal services for which the area is known. Although they share a common school district (one of the finest in the state) each city has its own waterfront park open to its residents and their guests. Each of these parks contains a large marina, an Olympic swimming pool, tennis courts, picnic and play areas, a snack bar and many other amenities.  A video tour is available by clicking the following link: http://www.grossepointechamberofcommerce.org/video.htm

The City of Grosse Pointe Park
Offering a diverse housing stock ranging from simple flats to multi-million dollar lakefront estates, The Park was the earliest of the cities to be developed. And while most of the existing homes here were built after 1920, there are still a few beautiful homes here that date back to the mid 1800s. Grosse Pointe Park real estate is characterized by larger homes on larger lots with architecture favoring Tudor and colonial styles. Grosse Pointe Park has homes for sale from $150,000 to $5,000,000.  The Park has two waterfront parks, which in addition to the “standard” amenities include a refrigerated ice rink, a fitness center, a full gymnasium and a first-run movie theatre. The Park also has a brand new library and will soon be home to a beautiful new performing arts center.

The City of Grosse Pointe
The City also offers a diverse housing stock including rental flats, condos, and homes for sale ranging in price from the mid $100,000s to several million dollars. The City will soon be the home of a new senior housing development near “The Village” as its shopping district is known. In addition to the largest shopping district, The City boasts Neff Park on Lake St. Clair and Elworthy Field, with its numerous tennis courts, play areas and one of the finest youth baseball facilities on the eastside.

The City of Grosse Pointe Farms
Home to some of the most beautiful mansions in the area, The Farms contains single-family houses for sale starting around $180,000 and a small number of higher-end condominiums.  Grosse Pointe Farms also has a central business/shopping district known as “The Hill” as well as Grosse Pointe South High School, The Country Club of Detroit, The Crescent Sail Club, The Little Club, The Grosse Pointe War Memorial and several parks offering ice skating, roller hockey, a splash zone, the only lakefront beach and a brand new community center.

The City of Grosse Pointe Woods
The Woods is the largest in area and population of all of the Grosse Pointes and offers everything from apartments and condos to large single family homes. Smaller homes in The Woods can be purchased for as little as $140,000. With a business district along Mack Avenue, you can find everything from national chains to the small “mom and pop” local retailers that offer the high level of service that this area has come to expect. Grosse Pointe Woods is home to Grosse Pointe North High School, another brand new library, The Grosse Pointe Hunt Club, Lochmoor Country Club and a waterfront park offering a five-story water slide and platform tennis courts.

The Village of Grosse Pointe Shores
The “newest” of the Grosse Pointes, most of The Shores was developed in the 50s and 60s. Characterized by large ranches on wide lots, The Shores is the smallest of the five Pointes. With their waterfront park and the spectacular Grosse Pointe Yacht Club anchoring the lakefront, The Shores has homes for sale ranging from $300,000 up to many millions.
